Collect Signatures
We are actively seeking volunteers to collect signatures to pause SB1 from becoming law and let the voters decide in November. SB1 is known as the Education Destruction Act. If you are not familiar with the law please take a look at the summary on the SB1 website by clicking here.
Here are instructions for volunteering:
FIRST: Sign up to be a volunteer here
THEN: Sign up here for as many upcoming events as you can attend
The Event Petition Captains will be in touch with instructions and you will get materials from them.
In addition to the events that are on the Sign Up Genius, please have your family/friends/co-workers and those in your social network sign a petition. Weekday evenings are the best time to knock on your neighbor’s door. Coffee shops and libraries are a great place to collect signatures, you can’t do it inside but you are permitted to stand near the entrance door while petitioning. Please take your petition wherever you go. We just need an all-out effort for the next six weeks.
THEN: Watch this training video so your signatures will count! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdtvuijquac
ONCE you are ready to get started, and you need petitions for your own use with friends or at local events not on the Sign Up Genius, email or text ________ the quantity you need (one per county and has room for 35 signatures). Reserved petitions will be available for pick up at ________________. If you are unable to pick them up, let me know and we will get them to you.
WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED PETITION BOOKLETS – Email ______ when you have completed petitions to turn in and we will provide instructions.
