ABOUT US
Making an impact in Solon and the Nation
The Solon Democratic Club believes in working together to organize, promote, and develop the principles and ideals of the Democratic Party.
Our Mission:
We strive to identify issues important to our members and our community and make an impact on public policy and elections.
We encourage local involvement in political advocacy and activism.
What we do:
- We meet the second Thursday of the month (unless otherwise specified) at 7:00 pm at Grantwood.
- Our meetings include public service programs, candidate’s forums, and general informational presentations that are of interest to our members.
- Over the last five years Solon has flipped from Republican to Democratic territory!
- Our club played a pivotal role in the successful effort to flip our Ohio House District 6 State Representative seat from red to blue in 2018. (The first Democrat in that seat in almost 40 years:)
- The Solon Democratic Club worked extremely hard in the last election cycle and put in countless hours making calls, texting, zooming, hosting a successful Civic Engagement Event, encouraging voter turnout, registering voters, socially distanced campaigning, distributing SIGNS, writing postcards
- We were thrilled at the election outcomes here in Solon.
- Solon had 80% voter TURNOUT, and Democrats won every precinct in Solon, powering President Biden and our local Democrats to victory!
