Dear Members and Friends of the Solon Democratic Club,

Election night was hard.

While many of the national results were uplifting, the outcome in Ohio left us heartbroken and upset.

We hoped that we would be celebrating many more Democratic victories, especially in the races for U.S. Senate, Ohio Governor, Ohio Supreme Court, Congressional District 7, and other statewide offices.

There were some bright spots locally: the re-election of our State Representative Phil Robinson and the election of Tom Jackson to State School Board.

We also helped elect Chris Ronayne as County Executive.

And our local supported candidates for judges were elected/re-elected including Solon’s own Deborah Turner and Rick Bell.

We can be proud of our efforts in Solon!

Thanks to everyone who made phone calls, sent texts, wrote postcards, canvassed countless doors, stood at the polls on election day from dawn till dusk handing out sample democratic ballots to voters.

Thank you for talking with your families, neighbors and friends and encouraging them to vote. Thank you for donating to help elect Democrats.

Thank you for supporting our Club’s election cycle activities, including meet the candidates’ events, Days of Action pop ups, yard sign distribution, literature handouts, Solon Home Days, etc.

And, of course, thank you for voting!

Thanks to your efforts, Solon/Glenwillow voter turnout was 58%. Of that 58%…

Nan Whaley received 57% of our vote,
Jennifer Brunner received 65%,
Tim Ryan received 67%  and
Matt Diemer received 65%

So Solon/Glenwillow voters delivered overwhelmingly for the Dems!
